I Tried The Viral Cleansing Balm from Alpha-H. Now I Get the Hype.

By Tara | Updated: 25/04/2024

Being a beauty blogger, I have the pleasure of testing and reviewing many different skincare products, both good and bad. While cleansers are an important step in any beauty regimen, they tend to be overlooked in comparison to serums and face masks and treatments. So, for a cleanser to generate the kind of hype that this product has, it must be exceptional.

“Obsessed”. “GOAT”. “Miracle”. If you take one look at the reviews it’s easy to see the Melting Moment Cleansing Balm has created a significant buzz in the beauty community.

It first came to my attention on TikTok, thanks to beauty influencer, Meredith Duxberry. In an impressive endorsement, it was able to remove her thick layers of makeup with ease.

Now, after getting the opportunity to try it myself, it’s arguably one of the best cleansers I have ever used…and I will explain why.

Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm Review

Ultimately, what I loved about it is the texture, subtle scent, ingredients and efficacy in removing makeup and dirt from your face without drying it out.

The Ingredients:

Native Wild Orange Leaf Extract – for hydrating and nourishing the skin and works to remove makeup, SPF, dirt and grime without drying the skin out. Also, protects the skin from free radical damage.

Grapeseed Oil – reduces sebum production.

Bisabolol – a Chamomile Extract – soothes, calms and reduces inflammation on the skin.

The brand has released a limited edition – Melting Moment Cleansing Balm in Plum.

The limited edition product hero’s Native Australian Davidson Plum — an ingredient rich in antioxidants to help protect from free radical damage. It’s delightfully scented with mandarin, geranium, ylang ylang and vanilla.

The Uses

I love that this is a multi-purpose product. It can be used as:

My Thoughts

This skincare product was a truly delightful experience. Designed to effortlessly remove makeup, dirt, and grime from the face, it exceeded expectations. The balm glided effortlessly over the skin, transforming into a luxurious, buttery consistency that effectively dissolved the day’s makeup.

Sure, there are plenty of cleansers that can do just that, what’s so special about this?

In my opinion, it really comes down to the ingredients, texture and consistency. Mentioning the ingredients – while not some advanced scientific combination, work beautifully together to cleanse the skin and leave it feeling soft, supple and hydrated, unlike some that can leave you feeling tight and dry.

One of the most impressive features of this product is its ability to remove eye makeup without causing any stinging or irritation. In fact, it’s even effective at removing waterproof mascara, a notoriously stubborn makeup product.

Working the product over your face is a luxurious, soothing experience and a delightful, subtle scent that elevates the relaxing experience.

Considerations

Yes, it’s a bit exxy for a cleanser, however, a little bit goes a long way and the product will last you for months.

To set expectations, while it is effective in removing make-up, this should really be a first step, in a double cleansing routine. It’s recommended to follow up with a foam or gel cleanser to properly remove any remaining residue on the skin.
