Tired of Dry, Flaky Skin? This Glycolic Scrub is Your New Holy Grail

Just like our face, the skin on our body can be prone to breakouts and bumps. One ingredient that has gained immense popularity in both facial and body skincare is Glycolic Acid, an Alpha Hydroxy Acid known for its remarkable benefits.

Glycolic Acid offers numerous benefits for the body. It improves skin tone and texture by exfoliating dead skin cells and promoting cell turnover, resulting in smoother and more even skin. It unclogs pores, preventing body acne and bumps, and keeps the skin clear and blemish-free. Additionally, Glycolic Acid promotes hydration, enhances the absorption of skincare products, and reveals brighter, more radiant skin.

When Frank Body, the experts in body care (more about them below) introduced its Glycolic Body Scrub, it quickly became a holy grail for those seeking to treat body bumps and achieve smoother, more luminous skin.

In our Beauty Space review, we will take an in-depth look at Frank Body’s Glycolic Body Scrub, exploring its formulation, its effectiveness in addressing common body skin concerns and providing valuable insights to help you make an informed decision.

What to Know:

What to Love:

Who is this for?

This is an ideal scrub for anyone who experiences the following:

The Ingredients:

Glycolic and Lactic Acids: A powerful AHA combination that sloughs away dead skin cells, congestion and impurities to reveal bright, clear skin.

Witch Hazel: A natural antiseptic that banishes bacteria, while soothing redness and inflammation. It also tightens pores and helps put a stop to spots.

Pumice: Made from ground volcanic stone, it works to gently exfoliate the skin and buff away dry or dead skin cells.

Niacinamide: This wonder ingredient is beneficial in targeting signs of aging and reducing acne.

My Thoughts

To test the efficacy of this product, I enlisted the help of my boyfriend and his bumpy back. The first photo was taken before ever trying the scrub. The second photo was taken after two uses of the scrub.

From the photos, you can see there is a subtle improvement in clearing the bumps. What I found had a noticeable improvement was the lightening of some of the acne blemishes on his back.

In terms of application, we found it’s more mess-free than the coffee scrub. Additionally, we both really enjoyed the fresh scent and gritty texture. I would note that I tried the scrub after using exfoliating my skin with a mitt – I would advise you to not do this! It stings!

In general, we both preferred this to The Ordinary Glycolic Treatment as it contains more beneficial ingredients and works to physically exfoliate the skin leaving it feeling ultra soft and smooth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use glycolic acid scrub every day?

Using a glycolic acid scrub every day is generally not recommended.

While glycolic acid is a beneficial exfoliating ingredient, it can be potent and potentially irritating to the skin if used too frequently. It is advisable to start with using a glycolic acid scrub once or twice a week and then gradually increase the frequency if your skin tolerates it well. Pay attention to your skin’s reaction and adjust accordingly.

It’s essential to follow the instructions provided by the product manufacturer and consult with a dermatologist if you have any concerns about incorporating glycolic acid into your skincare routine. Remember, proper skin care is about finding the right balance for your skin’s needs.

Can I use a glycolic body scrub on my face?

Using a glycolic body scrub on your face is generally not recommended.

Body scrubs are typically formulated with larger granules and may be more abrasive, which can be too harsh for the delicate skin on the face. Additionally, the skin on the face is generally more sensitive than the body, so using a product specifically designed for facial use is a safer option. If you are looking for an effective solution for your face, check out the Glycolic Scrub 14% from Skinsitut.

It is best to choose a glycolic acid product that is specifically formulated for the face, such as a facial cleanser or exfoliating mask, to ensure it is suitable for the unique needs of facial skin. Always follow the instructions provided by the product manufacturer and consider consulting with a dermatologist for personalised skincare advice.

The Verdict

In general, I have seen overwhelmingly positive feedback about this product.  If you are someone who experiences bumps on your body, this could be a game-changer in your body skincare routine.
