3 Effective Eye Treatments That Won’t Break the Bank

With so many options out there for eye treatments, it’s hard to know what which one is right for you. For those on a budget, it can be even more challenging to find something that actually works without testing and trying many creams and serums!

I have put together some affordable eye treatments you can find at your local drugstore.

In order to make this list, they had to match the following criteria:

  • Under $30 AUD
  • Be available in drugstores (Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Pharmacy)

1.  Nivea Visage Cellular Anti-Age Skin Rejuvenation Eye Cream

This product claims to smooth fine lines under the eye, reduces the appearance of wrinkles and firms and improves skin renewal. It contains hyaluronic acid and magnolia extract to support skin regeneration -plus its fragrance-free!

Is it affordable?

Yes, this product costs around $20 – $30 AUD (depending on the in-store promotion) for 15ml and is stocked at Chemist Warehouse.

Additionally, with this product, a little bit goes a long way which means added value for money. There is nothing worse than a product you only get a few pumps out of.

Does it work?

The formula is quite thick and creates a nice layer between your makeup and skin. If you are someone like me who wears a lot of under eye concealer, this can be super helpful! It also does a great job of hydrating and smoothing the area underneath the eyes.

2. Sukin Antioxidant Eye Serum

I love the Sukin brand as I tend to lean towards more natural products (especially if you are putting them on your face!). That’s why I find the Sukin Antioxidant eye serum is a great option for those after an affordable eye treatment with more natural ingredients.

It claims to reduce puffiness and hydrate the delicate eye area using a blend of Plant Extracts including soothing Aloe Vera, Cucumber and Burdock Extract.

Is it affordable?

You can pick up the 30ml serum at Chemist Warehouse for around $17 – $20 (depending on the in-store promotion).

Again, it is great value for money as you get a lot of product, essentially double the amount of product for half of what you would pay for many high-end brands.

Does it work?

It’s super hydrating and can help stop the awful concealer crease – absorbs nicely into the skin as it is a lightweight formula. If I could describe this product in one word it would be – hydration!

3. THE ORDINARY Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG 30 mL

I was thrilled to find out The Ordinary was being stocked in Priceline as I had been buying their products predominantly online.

It claims to reduce the appearance of eye contour pigmentation and puffiness.

Is it affordable?

This product tops the list of most affordable eye treatments as it can be purchased for around $13 AUD from Priceline and comes in a 30ml portion. Excellent value for money for those on a budget.

Does it work?

The product worked well in reducing the puffiness under my eyes and did appear to brighten them. It’s a really suitable product for those who want to alleviate dark circles.

My final thoughts

Remember, not all products work the same for everyone. My point of concern usually lies with my eyebags but I don’t really have dark circles. Therefore, I am not under the impression that an eye treatment will really alleviate the bags completely, but I look more for products that will moisturise the areas under my eyes, help avoid concealer creases and reduce extra puffiness in the mornings.

All the above products are affordable eye treatments and do a great job of meeting my expectations.
