Meet The LED Mask Setting a New Standard in At-Home Skincare

By Tara Lusk | Updated: 11/09/2024

Skincare devices have surged in popularity, with LED face masks becoming a top investment for those serious about skincare. They are a convenient way to emulate the post-facial glow in the comfort of your home.

It may be tempting to buy a cheap mask you see on Amazon, however, cheap materials result in subpar results. You’re essentially shining bright lights on your face without any real benefits. This is why it’s essential to invest in quality devices that will give you the best possible results.

With a background in medical science, dentistry, and laser cosmetic practice, San Lueur’s founder Diana Shenouda was driven to launch a product that delivers the highest standard of skincare technology for an at-home device.

We unpack what’s behind this innovative mask and why some are calling it ‘the most powerful at-home LED mask’.

The Technology

Diana’s journey to creating the San Lueur Advanced LED Light Therapy Mask began after noticing a gap in the market for a device that met her criteria based on in-depth research and clinical studies into LED technology.

We explain these three important parameters for assessing the effectiveness of the facial mask.

Wavelengths

The mask delivers three clinically approved wavelengths: 415nm, 633nm, and 830nm. These wavelengths penetrate different layers of the skin, addressing various skin concerns effectively, all in one device.

Blue Light (415nm): Targets the epidermis, the outermost layer of the skin, where oil production and acne formation occur. By reducing blemishes and promoting a clearer complexion, this wavelength helps achieve smooth and blemish-free skin.

Red Light (633nm): Reaches the dermis, revitalising skin texture, minimising the appearance of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles, and enhancing plumpness and radiance.

Near-Infrared Light (830nm): Penetrates the subcutaneous layer, which consists of fat cells and connective tissue. It stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving skin tone and texture while reducing hyperpigmentation.

Irradiance

Irradiance refers to the light intensity of the LED mask.

The San Lueur mask is optimised with an irradiance of 50mW/cm², the maximum level comfortably possible for an at-home device. This optimal irradiance ensures effective treatment sessions without overheating or discomfort, making it both powerful and safe for regular use.

Energy Output

As you might assume, this indicates the amount of energy delivered by the device and works to complement irradiance for the effective results.

The Design

Second to its efficacy, San Lueur has prioritised comfort when it comes to designing the mask. Made from premium soft silicone, the flexible mask adapts to all face shapes for a snug, comfortable fit.

Additionally, the mask features a customisable controller, allowing you to adjust light intensity and treatment duration for a personalised skincare experience.

Behind The Brand

Diana’s passion for skincare is rooted in her experience with a hereditary skin condition, which she treated with vascular laser therapy, inspiring her to recreate similar effective treatments for home use.

While understanding the power of evidence-based beauty technology, Diana believes a holistic approach, from hydration, nutrition and using the right topical products yields the best results for your skin.
