When it comes to brows, Amy Jean Linnehan has rightfully earned the title of Australia’s brow queen. With more than 20 years of experience, she has grown her brand into a network of luxury salons across Australia, offering expertise not only in brows but also in lash treatments and advanced cosmetic tattooing. With the likes of Rita Ora, Delta Goodrem and Caroline Stanbury on her client list, Amy Jean is known for creating brows that frame and complement the face without ever feeling overdone. In fact, one of her most in-demand services right now is brow tattoo removal, a reflection of the growing shift toward lighter, more natural, pared-back brows. In this exclusive interview with Beauty Space, she shares the brow trends defining 2025, her guiding principles for creating harmony in arches, and her expert advice on everything from over-tweezing to tattoo lightening.
BS: Are there any trends you are noticing for brows in 2025?

The defining shift of 2025 is a more refined, understated approach to brows – both in tone and styling. While “soap brows,” with their brushed-up, pressed-down finish, remain a personal preference, the trend has softened. In salon, we prefer a lifted lamination that frames the face while steering clear of the stark, “electrocuted” look.
The goal is always to enhance, never to overwhelm.
Lighter brows are very much in focus this year. They bring softness to the features, brighten the eye area, and allow natural beauty to take the lead. As for thinner brows, they’re certainly resurfacing online with Gen Z, fueled by the nostalgia of the ’90s and early 2000s. But in reality, we don’t see many clients in salon asking for them – especially as many women over 40 are still carefully growing back the brows they once over-tweezed.
BS: How do you determine the right arch, thickness, or shade for someone’s unique face?
We follow a handful of guiding principles at the Amy Jean Brow Academy – such as never dropping the tail of the brow lower than the front, which can drag the face downward. But beyond these fundamentals, we don’t believe in rigid “rules.” Brow artistry is a study in balance: bone structure, colouring, and personality all play a role. My team and I are constantly evolving, learning from one another, and refining techniques. The “right” arch, thickness, or tone is never prescriptive; it’s about creating harmony with the individual in front of you.
BS: When would you recommend a Brow Sculpt versus ColourLast or a Mist Brow Tattoo?
For clients with little natural growth who find themselves redrawing brows daily, our Mist Brow Tattoo is transformative. It delivers a soft, airbrushed veil of colour for a polished, low-maintenance look.
Those with more natural density may be better suited to treatments such as Brow Sculpt or ColourLast, which refine and tint the existing brow shape. These are ideal for clients who want flexibility without the long-term commitment of tattooing.
BS: What’s the best treatment for naturally fuller-looking brows?

We often recommend a layered approach. Treatments such as ColourLast or Brow Lamination establish a strong, fuller-looking base, while styling products like Brow Lacquer coat each strand with tinted gel to create depth, volume, and a three-dimensional finish.
BS: Is there a safe and effective way to remove brow tattooing?
Yes, and interest in this has never been higher. At Amy Jean Brow Agency, we offer Laser Lightening with advanced picosecond technology. This gently fragments pigment using rapid vibrations, allowing particles to be naturally expelled via the body’s lymphatic system. Most clients aren’t looking to erase their brows entirely—they simply want to refresh or soften old work. Laser Lightening is a safe, precise option that prevents pigment build-up and allows for a fresh canvas over time.
BS: How should someone approach fixing an over-tweezed brow?
First and foremost, step away from the tweezers. Entrust the process to a professional who can map out a regrowth plan to restore balance gradually. Brows grow far more slowly than lashes, so patience is essential. In the interim, nourishing products such as the Daily Brow Mask and Keratin Essence can condition and strengthen existing hairs, encouraging healthier growth and greater resilience. This care is especially important as density naturally declines with age.
